The name "Lama" has been synonymous with high quality workmanship since the 1960s. Lama Tiles was formed in 1962 under the name of “Butterworth Brickworks” to produce clay bricks and “Lama 62” profiled concrete roofing tiles as well as its related accessories primarily for the building and construction industry. Whilst leaving us with more than 45 years of experience, our objective is to be the supplier and manufacturer of choice for concrete roofing tiles and accessories, as well as any associated products that we are involved in, basing on high levels of quality, workmanship, service and innovation catered for both residential and commercial applications. "Lama", to date, is the largest and oldest privately owned Concrete Roofing Tile and Metal Door / Window Frame manufacturer in Malaysia and Singapore.
The roofing needs of the housing industry has never been more demanding. A roof tile must prove its ability to survive in harsh uncompromising tropical climate and Lama Tiles' response has never been stronger. On design, Research and Development coupled with our technical knowledge, every tile has been manufactured to withstand both the environment and the economic odds. All Lama Tiles' products are both SIRIM and IKRAM Certification Approved. Over the years, Lama Tiles' has progressed steadily with upgrades to both Australian and Italian technologies of high speed production plants, producing the most prestigious LAMA ROMAN range of Extruded Interlocking Concrete Roofing Tiles. With a total production capacity of an easy 3 million pieces of tiles (306,122 sq. metres) nationwide monthly or 3.7 sq. kilometers annually, we have been maintaining our positions at the front places of the industry for decades. This earlier ideals have proven themselves well as the company has prospered to the point that today, it is growing rapidly in size and prestige as well as expanding its scope.

On the other hand, Lama Metal Products Sdn. Bhd., was formed in 1994 to produce Rolled and Pressed Formed Metal Door and Window Frames primarily for the building and construction industry. Our objective is to be the supplier and manufacturer of choice for metal door and window frames, as well as any associated products we are involved in, basing on high levels of quality, workmanship, service and innovation catered for both residential and commercial application.
Our initial Metal Door Frame Technology was derived from Australia. This concept of manufacturing roll formed metal door frames in Malaysia was introduced to replace and substitute the increasing price and scarcity of quality wooden door and window frames. We are proud to announce that Lama Metal Products is one of the pioneers, being the second company to introduce this technology and product to the country and were responsible for laying the foundation of the metal and window frame installation techniques. Today, Lama Metal Products has a total of 4 Roll Forming and 2 Press Forming manufacturing lines utilizing modern technology equipment from Australia to Italy, Thailand to Taiwan, to cater to various dimensions and profiles in the growing building industry. Apart from manufacturing of metal door and window frames, Lama Metal Products has also 3 Roll Forming lines for manufacturing of the Steel “C” Channel Purlins.
As many of our competitors, both big and small, privately owned and public owned has come and gone in short of half of a century, Lama Group Of Companies has succeeded in maintaining its position at the frontlines of the industry by working closely with architects, specifiers and builders, continually developing our product, processes and services for further improvements as well as all forms of cost optimization strategies.
